Welcome to the OS X ScreamerNet Controller
The ScreamerNet Controller for OS X, developed by J David Baker of Catalyst Productions, is a front-end controller for Lightwave's ScreamerNet network rendering system. After you have built your scenes in Lightwave, you can use the ScreamerNet Controller to feed the scene to as many CPUs as you have, and they will render away, while you can be working on another scene in Lightwave!
The current version of the ScreamerNet Controller is Version 4.1.
Depending on your needs, there are four versions of the Controller that you may choose from.
- Lite Version - This version is free of charge, and will control one node. If you only have a single computer and want to render in the background while you are working in the foreground, this version is for you.
- Amateur Version - This version will control two nodes. Use this version if you want to take advantage of your dual processors and render two nodes together, or if you want to have two individual CPU's rendering at the same time.
- Intermediate Version - This version will control up to five nodes. At this point you are starting to have a very significant render farm!
- Professional Version - If your farm is larger than five nodes, this will take you as far as your network will stretch! Perfect for large production houses and render facilities.
All features are fully functional in all five versions.
